Thanks Chief Vermetten!
Lieutenant Caleb Acree and Captain Tom Bronaugh, representing the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department, presented Chief Mike Vermetten with a certificate of appreciation for actions taken on July 11, 2017. Vermetten and Ryan Woodyard were traveling to Topeka on I-70 and witnessed a vehicle leave the road and strike a Shawnee County sheriff’s deputy and his K-9 partner who were observing traffic. Vermetten and Woodyard stopped and immediately helped the Sergeant and his K-9 partner on the scene.

Join the Waterville Fire Department at the Waterville City Park beginning at noon on Saturday, August 26, for their Smoke Off competition and Car Show. The City of Waterville will hold the 2018 Budget Hearing on August 14, 2017 at 6:50 p.m. at the Waterville Community Center. The Mayor and Council will be available to hear and answer objections of taxpayers relating to the proposed use of all funds and the amount of ad valorem tax.

The swimming pool will have a glow party August 19. Admission will be $5 and include a free glow item and a raffle ticket. There will be a giant water slide, door prizes, music, and lots of fun!
Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult and will be free of charge from 7-8 p.m. Kindergarten - 6th grade hours will be 8-10 p.m. Children 7th grade to 12th grade will start at 10:00 p.m. and close the pool down for the season at midnight.
