The City of Waterville would like to remind everyone that animals are not allowed to run loose in the city limits. Waterville will enforce Ordinance No. 542 regarding animal control regulations in order to keep everyone safe.
Article A, A-13. Running at Large: It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully allow any dog or cat, or any other animal to run at large within the city. Any animal found to be running at large shall be impounded.
A-14. Impoundment, Notice, Record: Any animal that has been impounded for any violation of this chapter shall be taken to a suitable pound contracted for by the city. The impoundment fee shall be paid for by the owner of such animal(s) along with any vaccination shots required before the animal(s) can be released to the owner. If the owner of such animal(s) cannot be located the animal(s) will be euthanized by the veterinarian. A record of all animals picked up by the law enforcement officer shall be kept in the police department.
