The swimming pool will have a glow party August 19. Admission will be $5 and include a free glow item and a raffle ticket. There will be a giant water slide, door prizes, music, and lots of fun!
Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult and will be free of charge from 7-8 p.m. Kindergarten - 6th grade hours will be 8-10 p.m. Children 7th grade to 12th grade will start at 10:00 p.m. and close the pool down for the season at midnight.

The filing deadline for local office candidates is June 1 at noon. You are required to file with the county clerk and pay the filing fee of $20. Dates for the 2017 local elections are June 1, final date to tile for local office; August 1, the primary for local elections; and November 7 will be the general election.

The Mayor and two council member positions will be expiring the second Monday in January of 2018 following the certification of the election.

The Chamber of Commerce has lined up city wide garage sales for May 5-6 this week. Maps of locations will be available at each sale. The weather looks nice for these days, get out and find a bargain!

Clean out your garage and yards! Waterville will be having a city wide clean-up day April 29, 2017.

Curb side pickup will be available 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Marshall County Landfill will also be free for individuals the same day, and also on April 27. For more information call 785-541-0081.

Items that will be hauled off are trash, brush, scrap metal, and other unwanted items. There will be no tire disposal this year.

The City of Waterville is accepting applications for a full time Water/Wastewater Operator. Applicant must have Class I Certification or willing to obtain certification. The position will work in electric, streets, facility maintenance and any other assigned duties. Position requires a valid driver's license, high school diploma or GED. Wages based on qualifications. The Waterville City Council would like to remind everyone that the city dump is an acceptable site to dump brush only! Recently there have been many illegal items left at the site. Please be sure that you are only leaving brush so the site can remain open for use at all times!
