Last week the city mailed notices in accordance with State of Kansas requirements regarding reporting violations. The City of Waterville submitted its lead and copper inventory to the State, but the submission was received three days past the deadline. As a result, this is considered a reporting violation under state regulations.
We want to assure you that this was solely a timing issue—not a water quality concern. The inventory was completed accurately and submitted; however, the delay triggered the need for the formal notice.
We sincerely regret the late submission and are taking steps to ensure future reports are submitted on time. Thank you for your understanding and continued trust.
